It's Friday
Wait. Let me say that once again with feeling.
It's FRIDAY! Wooo!
In honor of the glorious weekend which lays at our feet, I give you... Patrick Power's Buttercups video!
If you do anything today, please finish reading this post and then click on the link I just provided. I let it auto-rotate about 4 times this morning. It truly is lovely. My heart leapt for joy. Please watch it, bookmark it, and then watch it again when you're feeling down.
A few side notes... Patrick is Xu Bing's web designer, an artist I profiled while I was in a fog earlier this week. The song in the video is memorable from my absolute favorite movie of all time and I instantly recognized it - John Williams' "Liberation: Exsultate Justi."
Patrick's website doesn't have any text, but is a series of pictures you click on to take you to little videos such as the Buttercup video I'm highlighting in this post. It's lovely. Little windows into a Chinese kitchen, through the fence watching a roller coaster, watching polar bears sleep... you name it.
In a distinct way, his site and the resulting videos reminded me of making those folded paper "thingees" in grade school which were supposed to determine your destiny. I've made one and include it here because, for the life of me, I cannot think of any proper way to refer to them which might be Wikipedia-ed or Google-able. Surely someone now reading this will know their proper term?
